In Honor of Danielle Duggan

This production of She Kills Monsters: Young Adventurers Edition would not have been possible without Dani Duggan. She was Speech and Theatre Workshop's fearless leader and is the reason we continue doing theatre at Middleboro High School. Her passing midway through our rehearsal process was felt by all, those who knew her well and those who had never met her.

As theatre artists, it is our job to tell stories and to build community — hence why we put on this production in front of an audience. Dungeons and Dragons does the same. The story we told is one of family, love, loss, friendship and discovery - experiences all humans are familiar with. STW is more familiar now with loss, family and love after the passing of our rock, the one that brought us all together, Dani Duggan. I am grateful for the home she built for us in STW and for the family that came with it. While Tilly’s safe space was Dungeons and Dragons with her geeky friends, Speech and Theatre Workshop and the theatre kids is ours. May we keep telling stories and bringing people together the way they kept playing D&D.
