HANNAH
BRADLEY
theatre artist
About Me
I am a theatre artist with a passion for telling stories and sparking social change. While my degree is in directing, I am also well versed in dramaturgy with experience in devised theatre, stage management and design. I am a natural leader and collaborator, always excited for a creative challenge and a new project.

I graduated from Salem State University in May of 2022 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Directing and a minor in Dramatic Literature.
Post-grad, I moved back home to teach at my alma mater. Starting in September 2022, I have been working as a building substitute at Middleboro High School and have been serving as an Artist in Residence for the theatre department. I have spent much of my time directing, assistant directing, sound engineering and helping my students grow their passion for theatre!
In my free time, I like to collage, read, spend time with my friends and sing my heart out to Taylor Swift!

Work Experience
2019 - 2022
Actress / Tour Guide - Witch Dungeon Museum
As a theatre student in Salem, MA, working in a witch museum was a great opportunity to fine tune both my acting and people skills and to learn a great deal about the history of the witch trials.
2019 - 2022
Proctor / Sound and Stage Manager / Master Teacher - Project Contemporary Competitiveness
In this position, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to bond with and build up 12-16 year olds, make memories and have a lot of fun while providing an educational environment. As a proctor, I was in charge of my hall, I interned in digital photography and played lots of games with the kids. As sound and stage manager, I met with our performers and helped to set up any supplemental materials they had (props, powerpoint, etc) and played music for our events. While teaching theatre, I was challenged to think differently about theatre than I had in college and be reminded of the simple act of telling a story in front of an audience. In these positions, I grew as a leader and learned how to think quick and problem solve quickly.
Aug. 2022 - Dec. 2022
Sales Clerk - Savers
Working at Savers part time was a fun job because I love to thrift and I have great interpersonal skills that continue to develop each day. I use what I know from my theatre training and experience teaching kids to help individuals to use the self checkout machines and locate different things in the store -- sometimes they need to be directed or need steps broken down into smaller chunks to understand. I must be an active observer and listener to ensure I know who needs help and to make sure no one is shoplifting. Along with this, I help to maintain the cleanliness of the store, which is something that the Savers in Plymouth, MA prides itself in and helps to keep the customer base that we have. Due to my day to day classroom duties, I left my job at Savers to focus on school.
Sept. 2022 - Present
Long Term Sub / Artist in Residence - Middleboro High School
While I do not have a background in teaching and did not focus on that in college, I have been getting better and better in this position each day. I began by filling in for my High School theatre teacher and now am the full time building based substitute, in a new assignment every day. I am learning how to connect with the students and reason with them to focus on their school work and not on their cellphones and am having some success. I am passionate about the lessons I am teaching and seem to be having a positive impact on many of them. Directing the school plays is the most rewarding part of this job, as the theatre kids are excited to learn, play and grow. I am sharing techniques and using the rehearsal process guides that I learned in college and I feel like it is helping to shape the professionalism and the progress of this program positively.
Education
2014 - 2018
Middleboro High School
At Middleboro High School, I studied all subjects, putting the most of my energy into the arts. I was a confident theatre student, always working hard to make my teacher proud and to prepare for college.
2018 - 2022
Salem State University
I started at Salem State as a performance major, but switched to Directing during my Sophomore year, as my professors thought it may be a better fit for me. In focusing on directing, I was able to broaden my horizons and learn a lot more about what happens off-stage while preparing for a career in the arts.
